Location

Central Bohemia University started to emerge through various educational activities of several education providing agencies and authorities in 2008. In the year of 2011 it has been registered as the non-for-profit educational institution by City court of Prague with headquarters located in Lysolajské údolí, Prague. Just one year later CBU moved to Ládví to building of the Institute of Information Theory and Automation (UTIA), Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic where it rents offices and lecture rooms.

Cooperation

We cooperate with many Czech universities, namely Charles University, University of Economics in Prague, Czech University of Life Sciences (former University of Agriculture), University of Economics and Management, Unicorn College and many other. There is a long list of educational institutions we cooperate with in Europe and Asia. Since 2012, we cooperate with US based accrediting agency INTEAS – International Education Accreditation Society that internationally backs the accreditation of our courses.

Courses for everyone

CBU offers a lot of specialized courses for bachelor, master and postgraduate students. We also have courses of life-long education being accredited by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. We have also very long tradition in providing specialized tailor-made seminars for groups with various background from around the world.

Research supported at different levels

We support research and science in various ways. Our lecturers participate in domestic and foreign grants. From 2013 we annualy organize international conference and send the articles to ISI Web of Science for inclusion into indexed database  and publish three own prague based research journals. All publications are indexed by Google scholar and other indexation services using industry standard Open Journal System. CBU is a CrossRef member.

Analytical thinking

We support critical approach and analytical thinking among students within interdisciplinary and innovative environment where the only constant is permanent change. Therefore, our goal is to have alumnis with global, intercultural complex view, who are able to quickly gather and analyze information, who are able to initiate, implement and manage changes of personal and work-related life. Typical alumni is a valuable team player with leadership abilities.

All courses in English language

We focus on professional development of our international students which results in providing all courses in English language.

Diplomas, Certificates and Accreditation

CBU has accreditation of 10 continuing education courses (so called “requalification courses”) from Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, foreign accredited short term courses and BBA/MSc./MBA/MHA/DBA programmes which are not recognized as academic degrees by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic and are seen as a professional qualifications.

We work currently on acquiring internationally recognized accreditation of our institution and of other recognized academic degree study programmes so we would become a private university in the future.
