Course objectives & General description

  • This course covers three main topics such as Financial Management and Analysis, Process Management and ICT and Project Management: Theory and Practice.

 This course should improve your financial education with deep focus on Finance and analysis, risk management, and effects of various financial crises. During the course we will cover theoretical concepts as well as some practical examples.

Another part of this course will provide not only theoretical background but also hands-on experience with business process management (BPM), improvement and innovation with focus on ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) processes within a company. Our lecturers will introduce you the Business Process Management Notation (BPMN). Some of the topics that will be discussed include design and analysis of processes, automation of processes, daily monitoring and maintenance and evaluation of running processes. These topics will be enriched by case studies of various types.

The last part of this course will show you how Project Management is becoming increasingly important to execute project in a controlled way. Budgeting, deadlines, working with multi-disciplinary teams, personal strengths and weaknesses; these are all challenges a project manager needs to deal with. This part of course prepares you for participating in or managing projects. The participants will also experience the dynamics and teamwork that make working in projects so special.

Target group

Student and young professionals with a strong interest in Finance and Analysis. Some experience working with Excel is required as well as basic knowledge of accounting and finance. This course also focuses on people who are interested in topics such as information, computing science, business administration with flair for ICT and development of your personal management skills.

Higher than intermediated English is recommended but not required. For individual groups of 10+ applicants coming from university/company abroad we can arrange a translator.

July 10, 2017– July 28, 2017 (three weeks, with library and sightseeing free time)
